Systems Engineer 3 (SE3)

Location: Laurel, MD

BCT-LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer 3. The ideal candidate must possess an active TS/SCI w/ POLYGRAPH. This position is located in Columbia, Maryland.

What you will do

Support the transformation and modernization of the customer's Acquisition and Financial Management systems. In this context, modernizing refers to performing the limited development activities necessary to implement customer requested enhancements or to incorporate mandatory changes such as those needed to comply with new security or compliance requirements. Modernizing goes beyond typical maintenance, upgrades, and patches but it does not include developing new systems.

  • Advise and assist PMs in System Engineering activities by applying current best practices in Systems Engineering processes and principles to requirements for new SW/HW or labor acquisitions, as baseline in the Program.
  • Assess program-level architecture compatibility and interoperability with standards and other functional requirements, ensuring that future acquired technologies can integrate within technical and security parameters.
  • Assist PMs and Mission Partners with gathering technical and functional requirements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and applicability of all inputs/advice, which will directly result in new SW/HW acquisition package(s).
  • Prepare and support delivery of point papers, presentations, briefing charts, spreadsheets and other materials to assist decision-making.
  • Assist with analyzing, evaluating, reviewing, developing, updating, and enhancing plans, methods, business processes, policies, procedures and systems.
  • Assist the Program Manager to develop, create, and maintain fiscal Program baseline documentation.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, create project schedules, track project status, and analyze and manage project risk.

What you will need

  • Twenty (20) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar
    scope, type and complexity is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
