Communications Specialist

Location: Washington, DC

BCT-LLC is seeking a Communications Specialist (TS/SCI) to support, coordinate, brief, and execute internal and external communications (written and verbal) to multiple stakeholders and customers. This position is located in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute strategic and tactical communications campaigns and outreach strategies to ensure consistent, accurate, timely, and tailored communications to multiple stakeholders
  • Establish priorities, deadlines, and strategies, and deliver high quality products on time in a high-paced environment
  • Incorporate organization branding standards in all products and align to established templates and style guides
  • Review products for proper grammar, punctuation, syntax, content length, audience, logic, clarity, and consistency
  • Analyze the effectiveness of communications to recommend changes or improvements
  • Apply functional and general industry knowledge to help government stakeholders strategize and execute communications and marketing content that meet their objectives
  • Develop and cultivate cross-functional relationships with teams and stakeholders at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Provide executive communications support, such as assisting with the preparation of speaker notes, speeches, and talking points.
  • Promote a culture of high performance, collaboration, and positive team dynamics
  • Educate and guide key customers on the best communication approach to suit the specific situation, and help customers create effective communications for targeted audiences
  • Coordinate graphic, design, and event materials, to include, infographics, videography, photography, slick sheets, posters, etc.
  • Coordinate and assist in the planning and execution of workforce events, such as town halls or virtual meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic communications planning and execution
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid understanding of communications best practices and methodologies
  • Strong project management skills, organization, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously
  • Evidence of creative and strategic thinking; problem solving attitude; entrepreneurial spirit and self-motivation; and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

Desired Qualifications:

  • A solid understanding of communication methodologies and principles with the ability to define a flexible and unique approach based on the customer/business need and working environment
  • Experience with executive writing, brand development, marketing, digital communications, or similar
  • Experience with event, conference, and/or meeting management
  • Experience with organizational change management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least ten (10) years of relevant experience. Four (4) additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Requires a minimum of 10+ years of work experience
